This is a first in all of the seasons of #TopChef that I can remember. The entire group does so poorly in the elimination challenge that there is no winner and a team gets eliminated.

Quickfire Challenge

The cheftestants are up bright and early and head to the “Soul of Seattle,” world-famous Pike Place Market, for an early morning Quickfire and the chance for immunity, as they will have to use their skill and imagination to highlight some of the rarest ingredients found at the market for their Elimination Challenge. 

The cheftestants then team up, not only are the teams responsible for preparing breakfast for 50 market workers that will be ready to eat in 1 hour. Ultimately, Bart and Sheldon get the win and immunity.

Elimination Challenge

To celebrate some local artisans, each pairing is assigned a product to use and highlight in their dish. These include spicy pickles for CJand Tyler, rose water jelly for Stefan and Brooke, coconut curry chocolate for Lizzie and Danyele, truffle popcorn for Josh and John, Micah and Kristen get cheese curds, Eliza and Josie get cardamom bitters, and Bart and Sheldon’s candied salmon. The winning team gets $10,000.

Gail Simmons and Hugh Acheson join head judge Tom Colicchio and host Padma Lakshmi.

Every team did SO BAD across the board that Tom was beyond angry, and all of the local artisans are insulted by the “crap” that the cheftestants turn out.

Tom states that you put out horrible food like this, and no one gets $10,000. That’s right NO WINNER this week it’s also now a double elimination, with the worst team going home.

CJ and Tyler’s decision to highlight spicy pickles by frying them and putting them onto a mushy burger that they pack up and head to Last Chance Kitchen.

In every episode, one or more of the contestants eliminated. But you can help Save a Chef by voting in the Save a Chef  Competition by using the Chefs unique #hashtags - #SaveChef (insert chef’s name)
